Concept and Structure of the Workshop:

1. Mold Creation for Paper Casting: Learn to design and create molds for paper casting that enable you to produce multiple copies of your creations with ease. This technique is ideal for producing consistent and precise results without the need for specialized machinery.

2. Making Paper from Various Materials: Explore the process of making paper from a variety of materials, including natural fibers, recycled paper, and contemporary redefined substances. 3. Paper Casting Techniques: Master advanced techniques for casting paper into molds, creating intricate three-dimensional sculptural objects and reliefs. You will learn various methods for achieving detailed and innovative results, expanding your creative possibilities.

Introduction:

This workshop delves into the historical connection between paper and its uses by working with cellulose—the plant cell membrane used in making paper and textiles. You will create personalized layers that reflect your impressions and ideas. Paper’s unique characteristics as a thin, strain-resistant skin allow it to hold shapes, enabling the creation of lightweight, sculptural forms, including detailed 3D reliefs. The molds crafted in this workshop are reusable, providing a foundation for ongoing experimentation and artistic exploration.
